Fees compound against you
Fees are taken every year, which means you are paying a percentage of a growing portfolio. Even a small fee looks harmless early on but becomes meaningful over decades. Use the calculator fee input for the total cost you expect to pay, not just the fund's published number.
Inflation changes what the number means
The future value in SEK is a nominal number. Turning on the inflation toggle shows the same projection in today's SEK so you can compare it to current prices. This is especially helpful for long horizons.
Combined effect of fees and inflation on real returns
Fees reduce the investment base, and inflation reduces purchasing power. The combined effect is often larger than expected. Try the nominal and real views side by side and note the gap at the end of the horizon.
How to model it in the calculator
Enter the all-in fee you pay annually, set an inflation assumption you are comfortable with, and toggle "Show values in today's SEK". If you want a range, widen the uncertainty band to see a high and low path.
Assumptions: Constant average return, periodic contributions, and fees applied evenly. Taxes and account rules are not included.
