Income impact

Estimate how taking parental benefit (föräldrapenning) changes your income using the real 2025-2026 calendar. Pick dates on the calendar or use a full-year preset, then add your benefit days by level (or use Benefit days/week).

Plan setup
Household mode is intended for a full 480-day plan for one child.
Work schedule
We treat workdays as the earliest weekdays each week and exclude Swedish public holidays.
Parents
Benefit day allocation
Enter benefit days as full-day equivalents (0.125 steps). Example: 45 half-days = 22.5. We place these days on the real calendar using your selected dates (custom or preset) or the benefit days/week schedule. Days are allocated in order: SGI -> basic -> minimum. Salary impact only applies on actual workdays. Enter days for each parent in the fields below.

Parent 1
Gross salary before leave.
If provided, SGI overrides salary × 12 for SGI-level benefit.
Days by level
Date selection
Estimate uses 2026 tax tables without picking dates. Custom lets you pick dates on the calendar. Presets are fixed year patterns.
Red day Non-working day
Benefit days/week schedule
Dates are inclusive (UTC). Supports 2025-2026 only.
Used only in Benefit days/week mode (0.125 steps).
If 1-4 days/week, the default is the earliest weekdays (Mon, Tue, ...). Choose different weekdays to override the assumption.
Eligibility (SGI/basic pool)
If not met, the first 180 SGI/basic days are paid at the basic level (250 SEK/day).
Used to apply the 240-day rule for early SGI/basic days.
Tax & net estimates
Salary tax (preliminary)
We use Skatteverket monthly tables to estimate salary net.
Select your municipality to auto-pick the salary tax table (29-42).
Auto-filled from municipality; switch to Manual to edit.
For most employees, use column 1 (or 3 if 66+ at year start).
Benefit tax
Used for benefit net. Tax tables default to the salary table + column unless you override them.
Results
Benefit gross (selected days) Gross parental benefit for the selected dates. We place your benefit days on real dates and apply the correct daily rate for each date (SGI cap, basic/minimum levels, and 240-day rule when applicable).

Salary value of those days (if working) Salary reduction is computed day-by-day from the real calendar. We calculate salary per workday in each month and only apply it on dates that are actual workdays for your schedule.

Gross change vs working Gross change compares: parental benefit (gross) minus the salary value you would have earned while working. Negative means your gross income is lower during leave than if you worked for those days.

Net change vs working Net uses preliminary tax withholding. Salary withholding is calculated from Skatteverket monthly tax tables for each year in your selected dates (2025 and/or 2026). If your selection spans both years, we apply the matching table per month. Benefit withholding uses your chosen method.

Quick compare - benefit days/week This table recalculates the same span for 1 to 7 benefit days per week. Benefit amount scales with days/week, while salary loss is capped at your workdays/week. If no dates are selected (Estimate mode), we assume a 52-week year.
